Factors to consider when selecting a gas griddle
Once you’ve grasped the benefits, here are the key criteria to help refine your choice:
The plate coating and the chassis

At ENO, only use premium materials for our griddles.
The chassis, made from marine-grade stainless steel or powder-coated galvanized steel, will offer long-lasting resistance to outdoor elements (rain, sun, etc.). A stainless-steel chassis – especially with a marine-grade finish – is ideal for coastal areas where the environment is more corrosive and saltier. Steel, such as the powder-coated galvanized steel we use, is an excellent choice for those living inland, whether in the city or countryside.
For the cooking plate of our griddles, we choose enameled cast iron, as it has excellent thermal inertia, allowing for even heat distribution and retention across the entire cooking surface. Its natural non-stick coating prevents food from sticking, enabling cooking without added fats.
Moreover, enamel is highly resistant to scratches and shocks, unlike stainless steel, which can deteriorate over time. Cleaning is also made easy: simply scrape off residue with a spatula and stainless-steel ball after each use, and you can move on to your next cooking session right away. The griddle is quick to clean without needing harsh detergents.
Stainless steel griddles are popular in professional kitchens, heats up quickly but does not retain heat as well as enameled cast iron. It can also tend to stick to food, requiring perfect control of cooking and more frequent use of cooking oils.
Energy consumption
All ENO gas griddles operate run on butane or propane gas. Some models can be converted to natural gas. Our Enosign range of griddles features high-efficiency burners that reduce gas consumption by up to 25% thanks to high-efficiency burners.
